Dysgermixtoma of Ovary



Abstract
1. Report was made on three cases of dysgerminoma of the ovary in Korean females that were observed at the department of obstretics and gynecology, Presbyterian Hospital, Taegu, Korea, during the period through August, 1963, to April, 1968.
2. The age incidence range from 32-to 41 ; 32 and 38 years of age with a parity of 2 and T respectively, 41 years of age with primary infertility 3. No specific clinical features which, would lead to the preoperative diagnosis of dysgerminoma of the ovary were obtained by reviewing of any cases.
4. There was no evidence of any endocrine activity, hermaphroditism, pregnancy, ascites, and pleural effusion in any of 3 cases.
5. The diagnosis of dysgerminoma can not be made by gross inspection of the tumor or from
the frozen section; microscopic examination of stained laboratory preparation is neccessary. 6. There was no combined with other condition such as teratoma and choriocarcinoma in any of the 3 cases. But one of them was associated with uterine myoma and bilateral bydrosal psx.
7. The tumor involvement was unilateral in 2 cases and bilateral in 1 case.
8. Well encapsulation and adult fist in size was in 2 cases of unilateral involvement and in 1 case of bilateral involvement, left tumor was child head in size and had pedicle torsion with rupture of capsule lem in length, and Rt. one was wall nut in size.
9. First case of this reports is definitely dysgerminoma which is confirmed by Dr.Novak of Johns Hopkins Hospital.
10. Follow up studies, revealed: Case I & H: no recurrence for long as 1 month to 5 years after operation. Case III: died 6 months after operaton.
